At its AGM on 7 March 2019, West Windsor Residents Association (WWRA) members unanimously approved that Cllr Wisdom Da Costa and Jonathan (Jon) Davey should represent residents in the new ward of Clewer & Dedworth West at the local election on 2 May 2019.

Both Wisdom and Jon are members of the WWRA Committee, Jon as Vice-Chair and, Wisdom as one of the sitting Councillors for the Clewer North Ward in Windsor

Jon and Wisdom are regular contributors here to the WWRA website and are also active with posts on Facebook and, in Jon’s case also via the I Love Windsor website.

 

More about Jon Davey

Jon has lived in Windsor for over 20 years with a two year break in Devon though, he grew up in Leeds, studied in Newcastle, after which he began a career in sale for Nestle.

Jon is currently vice chairman of the WWRA, was a past Chairman of East Berkshire Federation of Business and IS Vice President of Windsor & Eton Rotary Club

He is self employed and, clearly enjoys business, however, hes most fulfilled by being part of projects that have a real impact on lives.

He champions the Rotary Youth Speaks project, a national competition, where young people compete, with winning schools potentially going forward to the national finals. He believes communication is a very vital skill to develop among young people for their futures.

He believes local councils should be represented by local groups and people, and not be part of a national political agenda, as such his passion for fairness, honesty and has a strong ability to listen and communicate with people; He runs the local I Love Windsorblog.

Jon is Married with two children who attended local schools before moving on to higher education, he regularly walks his two dogs at Sutherland Grange.

More about Cllr Wisdom Da Costa

Wisdom grew up in Slough and attended then later taught at Slough Grammar School. He has lived and worked in Windsor for 9 years, after marrying local community midwife, Carole.

His career has included senior positions in Finance and Treasury for top tier companies and accountant to small businesses.

Wisdom sees great value in family & community and has helped residents all his life including serving meals to the elderly; working with children and disadvantaged groups; organising public events.

With the WWRA, he has produced residentsguides on the 3rd runway, aircraft operations & noise, gambling shops, and has represented local views in Council and on radio.

With the WWRA, Wisdom helped the Save the Swan project achieve Asset of Community Value status and, supported the project in council; He looks forward to the Swan opening soon.

As a Councilor he has helped many local residents with issues such as housing, anti-social neighbours, parking, etc. as well as holding the Council to account on planning, highways, transport & environment and finance issues.

He is passionate about the sustainability, he is a beekeeper and, keen member of Plastic Free Windsor.

He  also admits to being a Reading FC fan!
