You may recall that the Fire Station located in St Marks Road was closed and is now flats. An “outstation” is now located in Tinkers Lane, which I understand doesn’t quite provide 24 hour cover as there is “downtime” whilst shifts at Slough are briefed and travel to Windsor and then travel back to Slough and are debriefed. There is a consultation by the Berkshire Fire Service because they have to significatnly cut their costs (£1.4m) and one proposal is to close this “outstation” overnight with appliances being despatched to Windsor from Slough.
